VPN for streaming: how IPHush helps
No speed caps
The VPN has no speed limit on any plan. Pick a location close to you for the best picture.
Every TV
Samsung and LG cannot install VPN apps: a router with IPHush covers them, or Smart DNS on Family and Pro. Every TV brand.
Smart DNS
For TVs and consoles: only the streaming apps go through IPHush, everything else at full speed. It changes the location they see; it does not encrypt.
57 locations
In 45 countries. See every location.
How streaming works with IPHush
When IPHush is on, your phone, laptop or TV sends its traffic through an encrypted WireGuard tunnel to a router we run ourselves, and the streaming service sees the address of that location instead of your own. Your internet provider sees that you talk to IPHush, not which titles you watch, and IPHush keeps no connection logs: no sites, no DNS questions, no connection times and no IP addresses.
The VPN has no speed caps on any plan. What decides the picture is your own connection and the distance to the location you pick: a location close to you keeps the delay low, and 4K depends only on the speed of your own line. At busy times every account keeps a fair share, and nobody is cut off.
TVs are the hard part. Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) cannot install VPN apps, so there are two ways. A router with IPHush protects every device behind it, the TV included, and counts as one connection; Family and Pro each include one. Smart DNS, on Family and Pro, needs nothing on the TV but a DNS address: you register your home network in your account, choose a location, and only the streaming apps go through IPHush while everything else stays at full speed. Smart DNS changes the location the apps see; it does not encrypt. For full privacy on the TV, use the router.
Streaming services set their own catalogs and rules for each country. What you can watch can differ by location and can change at any time, so use every service under its own terms.
Set it up in five steps
- Choose a plan
Personal ($4.99 a month, 3 devices at once), Family ($7.99, 8 devices at once and a router) and Pro ($19.99, 25 devices at once, a router and a dedicated IP). Every plan includes all 57 locations. Pricing.
- Phone or computer
On a phone, install IPHush and tap Connect. On Windows, Mac or Linux, use the official WireGuard app with a file from your account. Download.
- TV through the router
Add a router in your account, load its file and connect the TV to that Wi-Fi. Router guides.
- Or Smart DNS
Register your home network in your account, choose a location, type the IPHush DNS address into the TV and restart it. Step by step for your TV.
- Restart the streaming app
Apps remember where you were. After you change location, close the app fully or restart the TV.
Good to know
Smart DNS works only for the home IP address you register in your account, so nobody else can use your place; each home network counts as one device. The speed figure of Smart DNS is the total for streaming on that network; the VPN itself has no speed cap. For the steadiest picture, connect the TV with a cable or to 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
VPN for streaming: questions
Will every streaming service work?
Each service decides its own catalog and rules by country, so what you see can differ. Use every service under its terms.
Netflix still shows my real country. What now?
Fully close the app or restart the TV after you connect. In a browser, clear the site's cookies and turn off browser location.
Does streaming count against a data limit?
No. There are no speed caps and no data plans; a fair share applies to everyone at busy times.
Router or Smart DNS for my TV?
The router encrypts everything from every device at home. Smart DNS needs no router and changes only the location the streaming apps see, without encryption. Both come with Family and Pro.
Can I watch in 4K?
Yes, if your own connection is fast enough: the VPN has no speed cap. Choose a location close to you and use a cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi for the TV.
Can I stream on several screens at once?
Yes: 3 devices at once on Personal, 8 on Family and 25 on Pro. A router counts as one, whatever is behind it.
Does IPHush keep a list of what I watch?
No. IPHush keeps no connection logs: no sites, no DNS questions, no connection times and no IP addresses.
