How gaming works with IPHush
With IPHush on, the game talks to our router first and then to the game server, so other players and the server see the address of the IPHush location, not your home address. The connection between you and our router is encrypted with WireGuard (ChaCha20-Poly1305 and Curve25519), and IPHush keeps no connection logs.
Ping is what matters most in a game. Every extra stop on the way adds a little delay, so the rule is simple: choose the location closest to the game server, not the one closest to you. Our own routers are in Chicago, New York, Kansas City, Fremont, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf and Milan, and most of them sit at internet exchanges and connect directly to large networks, which keeps the route short. The IPHush app shows the ping to every location, so you can compare before you play.
Consoles cannot install VPN apps. PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch connect to a router with IPHush like to any Wi-Fi, and the router counts as one connection however many consoles sit behind it. Family and Pro each include one router. On a PC, use the official WireGuard app with a file from your account.
Large game downloads and updates run at the full speed of your connection: the VPN has no speed cap on any plan.
